lick creek bridge damage

The handrail on the east side of the Lick Creek Bridge near Auburndale was damaged recently when struck by an automobile.

The bridge has been inspected by an engineer and there was no structural damage. The handrail on the north side approaching the bridge and across the north side of the bridge will be replaced soon.

Will Keeler of Keeler Ironworks (the original builder of the bridge) will donate the replacement handrails. Fundraising is underway to help pay for removing the damaged sections, and the delivery, painting, and installation of the replacement sections.

Please make a donation today to financially help in any amount possible.

Thank you!

trail closure

The recent ice storm has left us with dangerous conditions on the trail and many fallen tree limbs crossing the trail. BE ADVISED:

The trail is CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE from McLean to Springdale Ave due to dangerous conditions and fallen/falling tree limbs.

All other areas of the trail and grounds should be avoided until further notice due to the icy conditions and the potential for additional tree limbs and branches to fall onto the trail.

Work will begin as soon as it is safe to clear the trail and we will post information here and on our social media accounts about it.

BE SAFE. STAY OFF OF THE TRAIL AT THIS TIME AND UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Thank you,

The V&E Greenline Leadership
