Spruce Up the Greenline

The V&E Greenline is a 1.7 mile long greenspace that is open to everyone to use as a community park. People walk, jog, talk to other users, enjoy the trees and birds, and walk their dogs. But, the V&E Greenline is solely dependent upon volunteers who do the maintenance and cleanup of this beautiful community asset.

Volunteers come from many places: neighborhood residents, users of the V&E Greenline, community groups, Hands on Memphis, and students.

Maintenance involves trimming branches, removing debris, cleanup up drainage areas, cutting weeds, raking leaves, removing dead branches and many other tasks.

There is much landscaping and clearing that must be done to make the Greenline more user friendly. Volunteers gather together on a Saturday morning to "Spruce up" the Greenline starting at 9:00 and afterwards enjoy a noon lunch together.

Thank you to all of the volunteers that come to Spruce Up days--and a special thanks to our Hands on Memphis volunteers
