Having started out as an overgrown railroad, the Greenline was cleaned, mowed and developed by members of the community. This is still the way the Greenline is maintained. Come help keep our neighborhood beautiful by volunteering on the next beautification day!

How to Volunteer

The best way to find out about volunteer days is to "like" our Facebook page, and check in with us periodically.  Please email us at VEGreenline@gmail.com if you'd like to be on our volunteer email list, or would like to volunteer your time for a particular project.

Attend a Beautification Day

The Greenline hosts Beautification Days. These events can include picking up limbs, trimming overgrowth of shrubs, raking leaves, tending to the gardens, installing signs, removing dead trees, maintaining facilities or doing whatever is needed. These are fun events where the volunteers make a big difference in the appearance of the trail.   Check the event calendar for scheduled events which are normally at an Greenline Stationhouse at 1625 Tutwiler. The V&E Greenline will provide  tools. If the weather is threatening, please check the News section on the website.  The News will also provide more information about the event.

*The Stationhouse is usually where meet-ups start, however occasionally other locations are scheduled. Be sure to check the location for the event on the calendar to be sure.
