Check back for
the next Spruce Up. Meet us at the Station
House located at Avalon and Tutwiler. The start time is 9:00
am.
May
17th Cleanup

Thanks to
Bill, Ken, Len, Nikki, Tim and Tom for attending the Spruce Up.
We trimmed trees in the path. Above is some of our handiwork.
March
15th Cleanup
Thanks
to Bill, Brian, Lisa, Nikki, Tim, Tom and Len and Mike who aren't
pictured for braving the elements. We painted posts and cut
down a low hanging tree.
General Information
The V&E Greenline is
a 1.7 mile long greenspace that is open to everyone to use as a
community park. People walk, jog, talk to other users, enjoy the
trees and birds, and walk their dogs. But, the V&E Greenline is
solely dependent upon volunteers who do the maintenance and cleanup
of this beautiful community asset.
Volunteers come from
many places: neighborhood residents, users of the V&E Greenline,
community groups, Hands on Memphis, and students.
Volunteer days involve
trimming branches, removing debris, cleanup up drainage areas,
cutting weeds, raking leaves, removing dead branches and many other
tasks.
There
is much landscaping and clearing that must be done to make the Greenline more user friendly.
Volunteers gather together
on a Saturday morning on the
Greenline starting at 9:00 and afterwards enjoy a noon lunch together.
Many of Volunteer Days start at the
Greenline Stationhouse, a building at 1625 Tutwiler. If the event
moves to another site on the V&E Greenline, it will be posted both
on this website and at the stationhouse.
Email VEGreenline.Org for more
information about Volunteer Days.
