The V&E Greenline is open and free to use every day of the year - rain or shine! From running and biking to long weekend walks with the dog, the trail is enjoyed by individuals from all over our city and beyond when they visit. The trail does not receive any support from the city or county for maintenance or improvements. That means we must raise 100% of its annual budget every year from private donors.

Get Involved
Volunteers are the heart and soul of the V&E Greenline. As a 100% community supported, volunteer organization we rely on friends, neighbors, and organizations - working together - to care for all of the needs of the trail.
Volunteers take on many roles within the organization. From planning and hosting our events, working on fundraising and other needs behind the scenes, to trail mowing, flower planting, and cleaning up branches after a storm - volunteers are there to make sure they get done. Here are some of the ways everyone can get involved:
Help with special events and fundraisers like our annual Artwalk
Come to one (or more) of our monthly Second Saturday volunteer days where we take on smaller tasks that only require a few hours and are perfect for the whole family
Become a part of the V&E Greenline Committee that meets monthly to manage the “business” side of sustaining the trail
Work on conservation, stewardship, and maintenance tasks to remove invasive species, restore trail surfaces, provide tree maintenance, and other projects along the trail
Half and full day projects are also available for church, social, university, businesses, and other groups looking for a positive outdoor experience for their participants
