Artwalk Featured Poster Artist

Beginning this year, Artwalk has selected a local artist with connections to the trail as our featured poster artist. Our poster is designed to highlight the interpretation of the trail and grounds as presented by the artist and of Artwalk.

A limited edition of signed and numbered 16” by 20” posters will be available to purchase during Artwalk at our merchandise table for $20. 11” by 14” prints of the original and blank note card sets will also be available for purchase.

our 2023 featured artist:

kait harris

Kait is a Michigan-born artist who works out of her home studio in VECA near the trail. She earned a BFA in Printmaking from Saginaw Valley (MI). As a printmaker, she works primarily in relief printing.

She started working with fabric and textiles in 2021. Exploration and play is important in her creative process. She started dying her own fabrics in order to create home goods and fine art. Being able to change up mediums breeds new ideas within all of her work whether it’s printing on paper, fabric, or painting.

“I love being able to come up with an image, carve it, and print it by hand. There’s a certain warmth a handmade item creates.” Color is her primary focus while painting. She works with watercolor, acrylic on canvas, and acrylic swipe paintings on watercolor paper.

She lives with her husband, Jeff, daughter, Juniper, and two puggles Mo and Dexter.

Titled “Summer on the V&E Greenline,” Kait has created a sunny field of blooms set in the foreground of the iconic Kirby Station House which serves as the grounds for Artwalk each year. Done in her free-form style in acrylic on paper, the original - and our 2023 poster - measures 16” by 20” which is perfect for framing and any decor.

Our posters (in either size) are digitally printed on heavy 225gsm bright white paper and are ready for framing. Thank you to our official Poster Printer - AlphaGraphics, 788 E. Brookhaven Circle, Memphis, TN 38117 www.alphagraphics.com
